The last decade following the West African Ebola epidemic, Sierra Leone became a popular subject of many researches, which were published in prominent international journals. Despite the contributions of Sierra Leonean scientists, they rarely get the deserving recognition. This, according to experts, is because many Sierra Leonean researchers lack the competence to write for journals.
The editorial team of the Sierra Leone Journal of Biomedical Research has been working to address this issue with its partners, including the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) and the United States Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (US CDC).
