FOCUS 1000 launches violence free election campaign

President Julius Maada Bio is seeking re-election for his second and final five-year term in elections slated for June 24. He is being challenged for the top job by 12 other candidates, according to data from the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL). But an increasing threat of violence is a concern for local and international development partners. The NGO FOCUS 1000 is working with UNDP, UNICEF and Defence for Children International to ensure a violence free process.
