A Call To Business (ACTB) Bank, a leading microfinance institution in Sierra Leone, has rewarded the top three graduating students of the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology (EBKUST). The awardees received cash prizes as recognition for their hardwork and dedication.

A total of 1,823 students graduated at the university’s 7th Congregation Ceremony with degrees, diplomas, and certificates in various fields of studies at the Prof. E.J.J. Momoh Pavilion in the Magburaka Campus on December 13th, 2025.

According to a news release from ACTB, it is the first financial institution in the country to introduce such a reward scheme at a university graduation, with EBK University as its pioneering beneficiary. Rockslyn Alwyn Findlay, the bank’s Marketing Manager, described the occasion as a defining moment for education in Sierra Leone, noting that ACTB is committed to recognizing excellence, rewarding hard work, and investing in the nation’s future leaders.

The award recipients were announced as Samuel Kamara, Best Overall Graduate with an impressive GPA of 4.88, with a B.Sc. in Development Studies from the Magburaka Campus;

Lamin Brima Conteh, B.Sc. Social Work and best graduate from the Makeni Campus with a GPA of 4.87; and Isata Amara Sillah, best graduate from the Port Loko Campus with a GPA of 4.78 in B.Ed. Home Sciences. Each of the awardees received a ceremonial cheque of NLe 5,000, symbolizing ACTB’s firm belief in rewarding academic excellence and empowering young professionals.

He assured students, parents, and stakeholders that ACTB remains at the forefront of youth empowerment and educational advancement, driven by its motto of “Empowering the Future Now.”
