Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) are a group of diseases that cause debilitating conditions in victims, from blindness to swollen legs and even bulging stomach. They account for hundreds of thousands of deaths annually, mostly in tropical countries like Sierra Leone.
NTDS are known to mostly affect people in poor and neglected communities.
Partners involved in efforts to eliminate or put under control these last week commemorated the day designated to remember it.
Juliana Kabba reports on the event.
