TheCivil Society Platform on Drugs and Substance Abuse is a response to the declaration of a national emergency on drugs and substance abuse by President Julius Maada Bio in April.

The activists behind it say they intend to complement the government’s efforts against the drug epidemic in the country.
The Platform was formally launched last week.
