Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio has said that the year 2025 will be characterized by bold actions by his administration to advance implementation of its Medium Term National Development Plan (MNDP).

Bio in his New Year message on Wednesday said his government was fully committed to implementing the development blue print with a focus on the Big Five Game Changers, which include job creation, supporting local businesses and attracting investments, with the goal of driving economic growth.

“As a government, our primary focus is on growing the economy to enhance the quality of life of every citizen, ensuring that no one is left behind in our journey of progress…,’ he said in the 15-minute long speech that was broadcast on state TV.

The statement touched on a wide range of other issues, including health, food security, climate change, energy, and gender empowerment.

President Bio emphasized on his desire to promote democratic governance and improve on the socioeconomic conditions of Sierra Leoneans.

The president, his wife and some members of his family spent the festive period at his village of Tihun in the southern Bo District.
