Founder of Tacugama Chimps Sanctuary appeals for gov’t protection

The government of Sierra Leone must take its responsible to protect Tacugama, Bala Amarasekaran, Founder and Programme Director of the country’s foremost Chimpanzee Sanctuary has said.

Mr Amarasekaran told ManoReporters that after three decades of hard work to make Tacugama the Number One Echo-Tourism destination in Sierra Leone, he is tired of running after land grabbers who are constantly trying to encroach into the place.

Tacugama, located in the Western Area Peninsular National Park, is home to over 100 chimps rescued from captivity.
